Woman accused of ramming truck, firing shot

A 33-year-old Odessa woman was arrested Saturday morning after her boyfriend accused her of ramming his vehicle and firing a firearm at him.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, officers received a call about an unwanted person in the 800 block of Rosamond Avenue and when they arrived, a 27-year-old man told them his girlfriend of six months, Victoria Galindo Cortez, struck his Chevrolet Silverado in the 12300 block of West Westridge and then fired a gun at the vehicle.

Deputies saw damage to the Chevy that was consistent with the man’s statement and they arrested Cortez on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence.

She was released from the Ector County jail Monday after posting a $35,000 surety bond.
