Water contamination

Due to the immense flooding that struck Ector County and the Permian Basin in September 2024, the water quality in surrounding areas has been significantly affected.

Water well testing was conducted, and the results have confirmed bacterial contamination within the Chaparral Estates Subdivision. Residents located in this area can pick up water testing kits at the Ector County Health Department located at 221 North Texas Ave., during normal business hours, or by calling their office at (432)498-4141.

Additional information about water testing and water well treatments can be found on the Ector County Health Department’s Facebook page.
