The victim of the Sunday house fire has been identified by the city spokesperson as 57-year-old Vickie Watson, a fourth grade teacher at Blackshear Elementary School.
Odessa Fire Rescue was first called about the house fire around 6 a.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of Springdale Drive.
Watson was one of three occupants who lived at the home, Goodson said, and the other two were not harmed by the fire.
Goodson said Watson was the only person to perish in the fire, and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
