After launching the campaign in August with a goal of $1.2 million, United Way of Odessa still seeks donations to meet its goal. With workplace campaigns wrapped up, United Way of Odessa sits several thousand short of goal which is required to fund 16 agencies.
“Our community needs continue to grow in a very trying economy. It is very clear that the need for services provided by our funded agencies is increasing. Not only are they serving local needs, but they are receiving an influx of newcomers seeking program services,” United Way of Odessa’s Executive Director Christina Escobar said in a news release.
“This last-minute appeal will provide the much-needed support required by our local agencies,” she said. “We challenge everyone to consider giving $5. Contact us today and make a pledge to give. Your support adds up and helps us achieve our mission of improving lives!”
Donations can be made at the United Way of Odessa office, 128 E. Second St., Odessa, www.unitedwayodessa.com or via text to give option. Text UWO2023 to 41444.
