Two facing drug charges

Two Odessa men were arrested Monday on multiple felony charges following a tip that one of them was dealing M30 fentanyl pills out of his motel room.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, detectives heard Brayam Licon, 20, was dealing drugs out of his room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on John Ben Shepperd Parkway and they began to surveil his room on Monday.

While there, detectives saw Licon get into a Chevrolet Silverado that was missing its front license plate and they decided to pull it over, the report stated. According to the report, however, the driver, identified as Jayden Patterson, 25, pulled away from the officers only to crash into a parked car on Melody Lane.

After detaining both men, detectives found a pill bottle on the ground next to the driver’s side door containing 8.5 grams of M30 pills, the report stated. They also smelled marijuana inside the truck.

While searching the truck, the detectives found 2.5 grams of fentanyl pills and 1.3 grams of cocaine inside a dollar bill, the report stated.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Licon’s motel room and inside they found a stolen AR-15, 6.8 grams of cocaine and a small amount of fentanyl pills, the report stated.

Licon was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and theft of a firearm. He’s in the Ector County jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold and surety bonds totaling $52,500.

Ector County District Court records show Licon was given 10 years deferred adjudication last October after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

Patterson was arrested on suspicion of evading in a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. Patterson was released from the jail Tuesday after posting surety bonds totaling $55,000.
