AUSTIN Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will visit the Walmart Supercenter in Midland Thursday, Sept. 12, to spotlight efforts his agency and members of the Organized Retail Theft Taskforce are doing to combat organized retail theft.
In 2023, the Texas Legislature charged Hegar with appointing members to the task force to study and make recommendations related to preventing organized retail theft in the state. Hegar serves as the lead administrator of this task force, which meets quarterly and will publish a report for the Texas Legislature by December 2024.
