Power restored

Power was out for about an hour Thursday morning in the downtown area.

Ed Mendez, customer operations executive for Oncor, said they don’t know the root cause, but the feeder was locked out and unable to get power to customers.

Initially, he said, 666 customers were impacted and within 30 minutes it was down to 250. As of 10:40 a.m., the power was restored, Mendez said. They were able to reconnect it remotely.

The power outage extended from Second Street to Eighth Street and over to Dixie. Some of the places affected were Meals on Wheels, the Ector County Annex, the Odessa Chamber of Commerce and the Odessa American.
