Maria Guerrero was honored by Hispanic Heritage of Odessa during a presentation of an exhibit of her late husband Salvador Guerrero Monday at the Ector County Library. Former Commissioner Salvador Guerrero is a well known community leader who has a southside senior center named after him. Salvador Guerrero was the first Hispanic to serve in such a role at the time. He was born in Cuidad Acuña, served proudly in World War II and had his start in radio before moving into government. His daughter, well renowned artist and longtime faculty member Tina Fuentes from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, curated this in his honor.
