The 2024 Permian Basin Fair and Expo is excited to announce the opportunity for young girls and boys to compete for royal titles in the Junior Mr. & Miss and Little Mr. & Miss Permian Basin pageants. These pageants are open to girls and new this year to boys between the ages of 4 to 16 and offer the chance to develop stage presence and public speaking skills while having fun. The pageants will take place during the fair’s 10-day run from August 30 to September 8 at the Ector County Coliseum Fairgrounds, Main Stage.
The contests will have different age groups, with one winner from each group. Boys and Girls aged 12-14 and 15-16 are eligible to compete for the Junior Mr. & Miss Permian Basin title, while little boys and girls aged 4 to 11 can compete for the Little Mr. & Miss Permian Basin title. Four age groups will compete in the Little Mr. & Miss category, with one winner from each group. The contestants will be judged on their personality, poise, coordination, and presentation, as well as an interview with the emcee on stage. The interview portion is always a crowd favorite, as participants are asked about various topics, such as their pets, best friends, or favorite toys, and their responses are always entertaining.
Entries for the pageants are due by Thursday, August 8. The pageant itself will take place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1. Registration forms can be picked up and returned to the Permian Basin Fair Office at 218 West 46th, Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or submitted online.
