Pecos man accused of sexual assault

A 24-year-old Pecos resident was arrested Thursday after admitting to having sex with a 16-year-old girl multiple times at an Odessa motel and at his home in Pecos.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers were summoned to Medical Center Hospital on April 24 after learning the girl was requesting a sexual assault nurse examination.

Investigators learned from the girl’s mother the teenager had asked permission to go to a party with some friends on April 18 and when she didn’t come home, she was reported as a runaway on April 21, the report stated. She came home on April 24 and a short time later went to the hospital.

The girl told investigators Angel Gomez Nunez, the stepfather of one of her friends, picked her up and took her to Days Inn and then Pecos, the report stated.

When interviewed May 2, Nunez admitted to having sex with her several times and investigators found Snapchat photos of the two of them together, the report stated.

Nunez was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a child and released from the Ector County jail Friday after posting a $25,000 surety bond.
