Ballroom Marfa, 108 E. San Antonio St., Marfa, has scheduled “Invocation for a Wandering Lake: Parts 1 & 2” (12 minute, looped) outdoor screening through Sunday.
The film will be projected onto the exterior at sundown around 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This year’s AFI theme is care—what it means to care for one another and the many ways this can manifest in our lives and communities. Patty Chang’s meditative work calls for contemplation of human and non-human lives, the natural environment, and destructive geopolitical forces, as we witness the artist in ritual acts of care and mourning.
