The Odessa Police Department is now accepting applications for the 27th session of the Odessa Police Department Citizens Police Academy.
The 12-week academy will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Thursday starting Sept. 2 at OPD.
There are no fees for the classes.
The goal is to educate the public about the Odessa Police Department and to increase the rapport between citizens and police officers.
The first 40 applications will be accepted for this session. The registration deadline is at 5 p.m. Friday, or until the session has been filled.
