Permian High School graduates Heidi Schultz and Amy Hudson will have a book signing for Schultz’ new book, “Little Dinky’s Big Adventure.”
The book, illustrated by Hudson, made a “big splash” at the flagship Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles. The story follows a baby hummingbird from his birth to his first flight with all of the predicaments and obstacles along the way that makes his determination to reach his dream of flying even more important. The book is based on a real baby hummingbird and includes actual photos of his journey right outside of my kitchen window, Schultz said in an email.
Schultz and Hudson grew up in Odessa and graduated in 1991 from Permian High School. Despite living in different parts of the world from each other since then, this is their second book created together. They are returning to the area for a book reading and signing at 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at Barnes & Noble, 2617 W. Loop 250 in Midland.
