Odessan accused of ramming wife’s car

An Odessa man was arrested Tuesday on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant that was issued in June after his common-law wife reported he purposely rammed her car.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, Adan Ricardo Naranjo Ramos’ wife called 911 on June 19 to report that he’d followed her after she’d left their home during an argument and used his Nissan Sentra to hit her Ford Focus on Tanglewood Lane between Maple Avenue and 42nd Street.

The 39-year-old woman said Ramos had threatened to kill her before so she kept on driving, the report stated. Ramos, 31, stopped following her when she pulled in front of a hair salon on East 42nd Street, she said.

Officers saw fresh damage to the woman’s car and sought a warrant for the second-degree felony at that time.

Ramos remains in the Ector County jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold and a $40,000 surety bond in the assault case. He’s also being held on a $2,000 surety bond in a July theft of mail case.
