Odessan accused of calling ex 140 times

A 55-year-old Odessa man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation revealed he’d called his former girlfriend of two months 140 times over the course of 22 hours.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, Earnest James Jackson’s ex girlfriend, 51, called police on July 7 to complain about Jackson’s phone calls.

She showed an officer that calls with the name “Deliverance In Jesus Name Amen” started coming in at 2:30 a.m. July 6 and kept coming in until 11:53 p.m. the same day, the report stated.

The woman told the officer she didn’t answer any of the calls, according to the report.

The officer recognized the phone number because he’d spoken with Jackson July 5 on another matter, the report stated.

Jackson was arrested on suspicion of harassment-repeated electronic communication, a Class B misdemeanor. He remained in the Ector County jail Wednesday on a $1,500 surety bond.
