A 22-year-old Odessa woman reportedly died in a rollover west of Odessa.
The reported fatal rollover happened at 12:02 a.m. July 29 at mile marker 111 on Interstate Highway 20 about three miles west of Odessa, a Texas Department of Public Safety press release stated.
Carlos Cortez, 28, of Big Spring was reportedly driving a 1990 Honda Accord with passengers 18-year-old Abigail Marquez, 24-year-old Alexandria Acosta of Odessa, 23-year-old Destiny Natera of Odessa, and 22-year-old Sarah Cortez of Odessa.
The Accord was traveling east on Interstate Highway 20 when the vehicle had a flat tire, the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled, the press release detailed.
Marquez, Acosta and Natera were reportedly transported to Medical Center Hospital with incapacitating injuries, while Carlos Cortez was transported to MCH with non-incapacitating injuries.
Sarah Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ector County Medical Examiner, the press release stated. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
