OC Cosmetology Department, Food Pantry launch ‘Haircuts and Hairstyles for the Holidays’

Odessa College’s Cosmetology Department is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Odessa College Food Pantry to host “Haircuts & Hairstyles for the Holidays.”

From Nov. 5 through Dec. 5, the community is invited to support the OC Food Pantry by bringing non-perishable food items in exchange for haircuts, hair styling, manicures, or pedicures. Both men’s and women’s cuts will be available, as well as additional services — all conducted by students who are supervised by a trained and licensed instructor.

In place of traditional payment, clients are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items per service for haircuts, hairstyles, manicures, or pedicures. Those interested in chemical treatments, such as perms, hair coloring, or acrylic nails, can receive a 20% discount by contributing two food items per service. Services are available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Items needed:

  • Loaves of bread
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Cookie butter
  • Cereal
  • Ramen cups
  • Pop-Tarts
  • Breakfast bars
  • Chips
  • Pretzels
  • Goldfish
  • Nutella and Go (with sticks)
  • Fruit cups

This initiative allows Odessa College Cosmetology students to give back while honing their skills under the close supervision of licensed instructors.
