The Black Cultural Council of Odessa has scheduled a number of events to celebrate MLK Day.
A basketball tourney is scheduled 6 p.m. Jan. 12 and all day Jan. 13 at Woodson Boys and Girls Club.
A gospel celebration featuring the Rev. Reginald G. Reid of Pleasant Hills Baptist Church in Shreveport, La., is scheduled at 3 p.m. at the OHS Performing Arts Center, 1301 Dotsy Ave. Gospel artist Joshua Rogers will perform.
The King Brunch is scheduled at 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 15 at the Woodson Community Center in Woodson Park followed by the Freedom March, which begins at the Southside Senior Citizens Center at noon. The march begins at 1 p.m.
A candlelight vigil is also scheduled by the Delta Sigma Theta sorority at Woodson Park on Jan. 15.
