MIDLAND For decades, the Midland Vet Center has provided services to Midland/Odessa Veterans and those residing in 27 surrounding counties across Texas. Newly hired Vet Center counselors are now on board, each with a breadth of readjustment and military experience, to assist Veterans, active military service members and their families with readjustment services.
“We are highly skilled to provide assistance with anxiety, bereavement, depression, PTSD, military sexual trauma, and a variety of other social and recreational concerns,” Artley Edwards, director, Midland Vet Center, said in a news release. “We care about the mental health and social well-being of our Veterans and their families. Veterans are never billed for our services, and above all, our services are always kept in the strictest of confidence.”
The Midland Vet Center works closely with the West Texas VA Medical Center in Big Spring and other Veteran and community organizations to address Veteran needs.

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers providing a broad range of counseling, outreach, and referral services, free-of-charge, in a safe and confidential environment to eligible Veterans, active duty service members (including National Guard and Reserve), and their families.
Vet Center counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced and prepared to discuss the tragedies of war, loss, grief and transition after trauma. Services include but are not limited to, PTSD, military sexual trauma, and bereavement counseling; marriage and family therapy; resources for suicide prevention; and assistance with VA benefits.
