A 35-year-old Midland pedestrian was struck and killed in the early morning hours Friday just outside Midland.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, James Mathew Evans was walking east in the main lane of SH 158 when he was struck by a Ford F-250 around 4:40 a.m..
DPS reported the 30-year-old Denton man driving the Ford tried to avoid Evans, but his passenger side mirror hit him.
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.
