Midland Municipal Court has announced a Municipal Courts Week celebration from Nov. 7-11.
There will be information booths from various organizations at the courthouse as well as other venues. Municipal Courts Week is a week, prescribed by the 86th Texas Legislature in House Resolution 1658, dedicated to appreciating the contributions that Texas municipal courts make to the safety and well-being of our communities. Below is a schedule of events taking place.
>> Monday, 8:30 a.m.: Seatbelt Check and Passenger Safety Booth from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
>> Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Safe Kids Worldwide will have a table with safety demonstrations and give away material to the public.
>> Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: The Midland-Odessa Homeschool Adventure Club will visit the Court, watch proceedings, and be able to ask questions of our judges and prosecutors.
>> Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.: Community Service and Juvenile Coordinator, Lauren Bezold, will be doing story time at Centennial Library.
>> Thursday, 11:30 a.m.: Story time at the Downtown Library.
>> Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Texas Stop DUI will be doing an impaired demonstration where the public will be able to participate and attempt to complete tasks while wearing intoxication goggles.
