A student from Nimitz Middle School is now facing a class A misdemeanor charge of threaten/exhibition use of a firearm in a public school, for saying if he had a gun he would bring it to school and shoot everyone, a news release detailed.
School leaders and ECISD police dealt with the situation immediately. Upon investigation, officers say the student made the statement in frustration and do not believe anyone at the school was in danger, the release said.
In the release, ECISD officials reminded parents and students that all threats of violence are not a joking matter. They will be taken seriously and will have consequences for the student, the release said.
