Manskey named to Texas Economic Development Council

ADDISON Odessa’s economic development pointman Tom Manskey has been elected to the prestigious Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) board during their Oct. 25 board meeting held in Addison.

Manskey has been the Director of Economic Development at the Odessa Chamber of Commerce for three years.

“The TEDC is the largest state economic development association in the nation,” Manskey said in a news release. “I am extremely honored to be part of an organization that will help grow Odessa and the entire state of Texas.”

The TEDC provides information, education and legislative services to its members to foster the expansion of existing businesses, the location of new firms and the development of strategies that promote a positive business climate in Texas.

TEDC is governed by a 24-member board and an 8-member Executive Committee.

Manskey earned his bachelor’s degree in geography from Texas State University, with a focus on urban and regional planning. He is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at Oklahoma University and the Institute for Organizational Management at Southern Methodist University. He is a Certified Chamber Executive.
