A 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested after they reportedly broke into a residence to assault another man and woman.
Gustavo Castanedo, 30, and Bianca Castellano, 28, were each charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony, a first-degree felony. Castanedo was also charged with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old, a state jail felony.
The reported burglary and assault happened around 1:24 a.m. April 15 in the 1000 block of Del Rio Drive, an Odessa Police Department affidavit stated.
Officers reportedly saw the victim, identified as Carlos Carrasco, standing in front of the residence with a large cut to his head with a large amount of blood. Carrasco stated he was sleeping when he heard a noise at the door that sounded like people trying to break in.
Carrasco stated that three subjects, which included Castanedo and Castellano, forcefully entered the residence and began assaulting him and his girlfriend, identified as Stacie Rodriguez.
Carrasco reportedly told officers that he was assaulted with a C-Clamp tool used by Castanedo and the other unknown man then left driving a red Ford Expedition. Carrasco attempted to take off the license plate prior to them leaving and he damaged the license plate cover.
After he was discharged from the hospital, Carrasco contacted officers and provided Castanedo’s information confirmed by Facebook, as well as other officer’s knowledge of Castanedo, the affidavit stated.
Castanedo was reportedly seen driving a vehicle matching the description given by Carrasco. Castanedo was found to have bloody clothing as well as an injury to his left cheek bone, which was consistent with being involved in a fight. The license plate of the red Ford SUV that Castanedo was driving was damaged and had blood on it.
After he was given his Miranda Warning, Castanedo admitted to taking Castellano to the residence in the 1000 block of Del Rio Drive so she could assault Carrasco, the affidavit stated.
Castanedo and Castellano were each arrested, charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Castanedo had two bonds totaling $64,000 and posted bail on April 16, jail records show. Castellano had one bond totaling $60,000 and she posted bail on April 16.
