A 62-year-old man was arrested and charged after a five-year-old girl stated she was sexually assaulted by him, an Ector County Sheriff’s Office affidavit detailed.
Gary Landreth was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.
The sexual assault reportedly happened on Jan. 7 in Ector County.
On Jan. 9, Child Protective Services received an anonymous tip that a five-year-old girl told a person that someone she knew had sexually assaulted her, the affidavit stated.
ECSO conducted an investigation and interviewed the five-year-old at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 9 at Children’s Advocacy Center at Harmony Home, the affidavit detailed. The girl started again that Landreth had penetrated her anally and vaginally.
A SANE exam was performed on the five-year-old girl and the results confirmed to be consistent and indicative of sexual assault, the affidavit stated.
Landreth was charged, arrested and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. He had one bond totaling $50,000 and was still in custody as of Wednesday afternoon, jail records show.
