Man accused of hammer attack

A 36-year-old man was arrested recently after another man accused him of attacking him with a hammer.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Department report released Wednesday, deputies responded to a disturbance call at Debbie and Moss around 10:20 p.m. Aug. 8.

When deputies arrived, a 34-year-old man with a large laceration and bloody face said he was fixing his cousin’s air conditioner when her boyfriend ran up and hit him on the head with a metal hammer as he was holding the unit up against an RV, the report stated.

The man said they then engaged in a fight until both of them fell to the ground, the report stated.

Nathan Zane Bright was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bright remained in the Ector County jail Thursday on a surety bond of $50,000.
