Man accused of attacking two with bat

A 55-year-old Odessa man was arrested Wednesday morning after Odessa police detectives said they came upon him battling over a baseball bat with another man.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, an investigation revealed San Kieu went to CBD for Life to confront the owner over money that was owed, but when the 53-year-old owner refused to open the door to the Andrews Highway business, witnesses said Kieu slashed a tire on the owner’s vehicle.

The report indicates witnesses said one of the owner’s friends, a 38-year-old man went outside to confront Kieu and Kieu struck him in the back and arm with the bat.

At that point, the owner came outside and witnesses said Kieu hit him in the head with the bat, the report stated.

The detectives came across the disturbance as the men struggled over the bat, the report stated.

Kieu was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Ector County jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold and surety bonds totaling $100,000.
