Local campuses earn Honor Roll designation

MIDLAND Two Ector County ISD campuses and three Midland ISD campuses have been named to the Honor Roll by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) for exceptional academic performance.

Hays Elementary was named a “STAR” campus and Reagan Elementary a “Scholar” campus.

Early College High School at Midland College (ECHS) has been named a “STAR” campus, while both Carver Center and the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) have been designated as “Scholar” campuses.

Only 835 schools in Texas, or about 12% earned the designation, a news release said.

The “STAR” recognition celebrates schools that have excelled in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations. The Honor Roll, now in its ninth year, is based on student outcomes on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) from 2019 through 2023.

The ERP Honor Roll acknowledges schools preparing students with fundamental skills essential for success in the workforce and life. The recognition program, supported by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence and the Texas Business Leadership Council, is based solely on objective student achievement data.
