LCPB extends subgrant application deadline

The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin (LCPB) has announced an extension of its subgrant application deadline to Oct. 18. This extension gives literacy providers and adult education initiatives in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico additional time to apply for crucial funding.

These subgrants, which have increased annually, serve as a lifeline for literacy programs across the region. In 2023 alone, LCPB awarded $82,734 to 19 initiatives. The grants empower organizations to enhance their services, reach more individuals, and make a meaningful impact on the community’s literacy rates, a news release said.

The funds have an immediate impact, allowing organizations to purchase supplies, pay for tutors, and offer new programs. With the extension, LCPB hopes more organizations will take advantage of this opportunity to secure funding and continue making a difference in the lives of those they serve.
