Permian Basin Fair and Expo is seeking local and area talent for the 2021 Talent Show.
This year, the preliminaries will take place Saturday, Aug. 14, at Music City Mall.
The finals will be held Sept. 11 at the Ector County Fairgrounds during the fair’s run.
Competitions are divided into four age groups: 7 years & under, 8-12 years, 13-17 years, and 18 years and over.
Division entry is determined by the age of the oldest member in the act including accompaniment.
A grand prize winner will receive $500 and a plaque. First place winners in each category will receive $150, second place $100, and third place $50.
In 2020, the Permian Basin Fair and Expo was canceled due to the pandemic. In 2019 top honors went to Greenwood High School junior, Kloe Lowe, for her vocal skills. Kloe sang, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a classic made by Judy Garland and recut by Katherine McPhee.
Talent acts range from singers performing their own music or covers, musicians, and dance performers.
Judging will be based on talent, originality, and showmanship.
Entry deadline is 4 p.m. Wednesday.
