Estranged husband accused of ramming wife’s SUV

An Odessa man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Saturday morning after admitting to ramming his estranged wife’s car with his.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, a woman told police she was leaving her residence for work when she saw her estranged husband, Christopher Iglesias, following her around 9:30 a.m. She told officers she was continuing on her way when he intentionally rammed the passenger side of her 2020 Lincoln SUV with his Nissan Sentra, causing his vehicle to stall.

When officers arrived at the intersection of Fitch Avenue and Laredo Drive, they found Iglesias and the Nissan, the report stated. A short time later, Iglesias’ estranged wife pulled up.

According to the report, Iglesias had to be told multiple times to stay by his vehicle and he kept yelling at his estranged wife.

Iglesias told officers he went to his ex’s apartment looking for her and admitted to striking her vehicle with his, the report stated.

He was booked into the Ector County jail on the second-degree felony of aggravated assault family violence with a deadly weapon. He was released Monday after posting a surety bond of $30,000.
