>> The Bright Star Memorial Dedication at 8 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Bright Star Memorial Plaza. Park in sports complex parking lot off Loop 338. It is open to the community.
>> The first UTPB football home game of the season (free admission and tailgating), Aug. 31 at Ratliff Stadium. Gates open at noon, Falcon Walk (when players arrive, spirit teams and band perform) at 4 p.m.; kick off is at 6 p.m.
Admission and tailgating is free for everyone.
