Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin Expands the POWER Bag program 

FORT STOCKTON The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin (LCPB) will announce the expansion of their literacy program to the Pecos County Memorial Hospital Tuesday.

POWER stands for Power of Words and Early Reading. The bags provide information to new parents, encouraging them to read, sing, and interact with their children to foster confidence and vocabulary development.

The expansion will start in July and will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pecos County Memorial Hospital, 387 I-10, Fort Stockton.

Its list of current active hospitals includes Midland Memorial Hospital; Medical Center Hospital; Odessa Regional Medical Center; Scenic Mountain Medical Center; and Reeves Regional Health.
