The Odessa Chamber of Commerce is hosting an appreciation lunch for all 4,200 employees of Ector County ISD from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Barn B on the Ector County Coliseum grounds.
Lunch will be provided for all ECISD employees. They also will receive a ticket for an Odessa Jackalopes hockey game along with other items donated by local businesses.
The purpose and goal of the ECISD Appreciation Event is to congratulate Ector County ISD employees for their first-ever “B” rating received by the Texas Education Agency. This first-time historical rating is a result of significant academic growth shown by ECISD students. The Odessa Chamber of Commerce is organizing a fun-filled day by providing lunch, T-shirts and entertainment for all 4,200 employees of the district including teachers, administrators, transportation, nutritional and maintenance staff, as well as office personnel, a news release said.
The event is presented by H-E-B and other local sponsors.
This is a community-led event to honor the district as it requires hundreds of volunteers to assist in putting this event together and making it a huge success, the release said.
