Ector County ISD staff members will walk neighborhoods and reach out to recover students who are identified as dropouts Saturday. The Welcome Walk is a chance to see these students and families face-to-face in an effort to bring them back to school.
The Welcome Walk will begin at 8 a.m. with a meeting at the ECISD Community Outreach Center at 301 E. Clements St. From there, staff members will visit homes to emphasize the importance of, and help the students make arrangements for returning to school, a news release said.
Last year ECISD staff was able to visit 51 homes and recover 25 students.
