MIDLAND Chuy’s, the Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant known for its made-from-scratch dishes and fun-loving atmosphere, presented an $8,256.83 check to Bynum School on Tuesday morning during a brief ceremony at the company’s newly opened Midland area restaurant location.
The check presentation ceremony celebrated the fundraising success of Chuy’s Midland grand opening and the impact the funds will have within the community. Before its grand opening, the restaurant hosted a dinner and social media fundraiser supporting Bynum School, the only private school in the Permian Basin that provides year-round educational and vocational programs for students with disabilities, ages preschool through adult, a news release said.
“We can’t express how grateful we are for Chuy’s support,” said Bynum School Executive Director Keri St. John. “Thanks to their generosity and community support, we will be able to continue to meet our students’ academic, behavioral, and vocational needs.”
