Ector County Commissioners are scheduled to discuss and take action on a variety of agenda items, which includes a revision to the anti-discrimination and harassment policy.
Commissioners will discuss this agenda and other during a meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the commissioners courtroom at the Ector County Administration Annex, Room 120, 1010 East Eighth St.
Patricia Patton, who works for Ector County Human Resources, told the Odessa American over the phone the current anti-discrimination and harassment policy has been in place for the last 25 to 30 years. She said this is something that needed to be done and she explained the Ector County Human Resources Department will be addressing other policies that need additions or revisions.
“Policies have to evolve to keep up with the times,” Patton said. “That’s what we are doing.”
The commissioners will also consider, discuss and take any necessary action regarding a proposed agreement and an amendment to agreement between Ringling Bros. – Barnum & Bailey Combined Shows Inc. a Delaware Corporation and Ector County Coliseum and Exhibition Center for the purpose of “Disney on Ice Show.”
The Ector County Sheriff’s Office have an agenda item to consider, discuss and take any necessary action regarding FMH Foundation Grant Contract for the Ector County Sheriff’s Office CSI Crime Scene Scanner.
The court will also:
>> To consider, discuss, and take any necessary action regarding a proposed Proclamation in support of declaring June 2022 as Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and authorize the County Judge and County Commissioners to sign.
>> To consider, discuss, and take any necessary action regarding the need to hire temporary services to assist in the day to day operations of the Public Works Traffic Department due to many employees being out on leave and authorize the County Judge to sign.
>> To consider, discuss, and take any necessary action regarding the award on the following Highway Material bid, Asphalt Patching Material; and authorize the County Judge and other county officials to sign all documents associated with this agenda item.
