The man killed in a freak accident Thursday while jumping from a dumpster has been identified as 45-year-old Brandon Altman.
Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis said an initial investigation determined Altman was inside a dumpster at West University Boulevard and North Roundup Avenue when a trash truck arrived around 6 a.m.
Surveillance video showed Altman jumping from the dumpster as it was almost to the point of dumping into the truck and he struck his head on the pavement, Griffis said.
