ECISD holds grievance hearings

The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees held four Level III grievance hearings Thursday.

Trustees upheld the decisions of the Level II grievance hearing. In the first hearing, there was no motion, so the Level II decision was upheld.

The first hearing related to a complaint filed by Amanda Napoleon, special education supervisor. On the other Level III grievance hearings for teachers Kendra Salgado, Timothy August Young and Christine Carrillo, the decisions from the Level II hearings were upheld.

Tatiana Dennis, an attorney for ECISD, said the teacher hearings were related to the Teacher Incentive Allotment.

The Texas Education Agency website says the Teacher Incentive Allotment was established with the goal of providing outstanding teachers with an accessible pathway to a six-figure salary.
