DPS asking for help in connection to fatal hit and run

The Texas Highway Patrol needs the public’s help to find a semi-truck that was involved in a fatal collision in Andrews County Wednesday and then fled.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a semi-truck with a white cab and carrying four-five joints of large pipe hit a Ford Expedition at 12:30 p.m. on SH 176 about 15 miles east of Andrews.

The trailer is believed to have left side damage and possible red paint transfer from the Expedition.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible while the crash was being investigated.
