Texas Department of Public Safety says a 28-year-old Denton man died in a two-vehicle collision in Ector County.
The reported fatal collision happened at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 18 on Interstate 20 about 15 miles east of Monahans, the DPS press release stated.
Raul Villanueva, 36, of Monahans was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, while Arnoldo Esquivel De La Rosa, 28, of Denton was driving a 2008 Dodge Nitro SUV.
DPS detailed that the Silverado was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20, while the Nitro was traveling west in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20. The Silverado was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 and collided with the Nitro.
Villanueva was transported to Medical Center Hospital and listed in serious condition, the press release stated. Esquivel De La Rosa was pronounced dead by the Ector County Medical Examiner.
