Wilson & Young Medal of Honor Middle School, 601 E. 38th St., went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon after campus administrators saw Odessa Police officers with guns drawn on a suspect.
The Odessa Police Department had a suspect running from its officers and toward the school.
Campus administrators made the decision to call a lockdown to make sure the students and staff remained safe, a news release said.
“Once the suspect was in custody, the school was quickly released from the lockdown. The school was not directly threatened and all students and staff are okay,” the release said.
