The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDON ENDANGER CHILD

Dajalee Brianne Padilla, 26, pleaded guilty July 6 to abandon endanger child intentionally/knowing/reckless/criminal negligence and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Dennis Jones was the attorney.

Johnny James Rangel, 26, pleaded guilty July 7 to two counts of abandon endanger child criminal negligence (SJF) and was sentenced to one year in state prison. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

ASSAULT

Adriana Villegas, 37, was granted community dismissal and discharge July 7 on two counts of assault public servant (F3). Judge James Rush presided. Matt L. Thomas was the attorney.

April Jenavi Cabezuela, 25, was granted community dismissal and discharge June 30 on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Judge John W. Smith presided.

Edgar Mendoza Cruz, 35, pleaded guilty July 1 on two counts of aggravated assault with deadly weapon and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Judge Tryon D. Lewis approved the deal.

CRIMINAL NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE

Joe Luis Malacara, 37, pleaded guilty July 1 to driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to eight years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

FRAUD

Brandon Scott King, 34, was granted community dismissal and discharge June 29 on the charge of fraud possession of controlled substance/prescription schedule I/II (F2). Judge John W. Smith presided.

INJURY

Marcario Hinojos Estorga, 70, pleaded guilty June 28 to injury to child/elderly individual or disable individual and was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Judge John Shrode approved the deal.

Teddy Ray Wesson, 33, had an injury to a child by omission (F1) charge dismissed July 7. Judge James Rush presided.

INTOXICATED MANSLAUGHTER WITH VEHICLE

Edgar Mendoza Cruz, 35, pleaded guilty July 1 to intoxicated manslaughter with vehicle and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Judge Tryon D. Lewis approved the deal.
