A 23-year-old Crane man was killed in a wreck shortly before midnight Tuesday in Midland.
According to Midland spokeswoman Karisa Danley, Angel Daniel Ramirez was traveling north in the 1700 block of North Midkiff Road at a high rate of speed when he struck multiple warning signs/barricades at West Golf Course Road. He then entered the marked construction zone going north in the southbound lanes of travel. The pickup struck a large, parked John Deere backhoe loader with such force that it ignited the pickup.
The investigation is ongoing.
