The Odessa City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on awarding a bid for $95 million for water treatment plant rehabilitation and miscellaneous upgrades project.
The company being awarded the bid is Garney Companies, Inc., while there will also be an agreement with Carollo Engineers, Inc., for project management during and post construction phase services.
That vote is set during the city council’s regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday on the fifth floor of City Hall in the City Council Chambers located at 411 W. Eighth St.
The city council agenda details that Odessa Public Works Director Thomas Kerr will speak to the city council about the water treatment plant rehabilitation and miscellaneous upgrades project. The project is budgeted for $95 million to be paid with certificates of obligation, which the city council approved 6-1 on Aug. 3.
Kerr will speak to the city council about approving Engage Parkson Corporation to rebuild Bob Derrington Water Reclamation Facility Mechanical Bar Screen. The bar screen is budgeted for $141,817. Kerr reportedly told city council during last week’s work session that the bar has a life expectancy of 20 years.
During the public hearing section, City of Odessa Planning Director Randy Brinlee will talk to city council about considering approval of rezoning a total of 31.63 acres near the southeast intersection of P Bar Ranch Road and N. Faudree Road. The rezone request would be for retail and retail-one.
