The Odessa Police Department and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a car-pedestrian crash just after 1 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of W I-20 in the eastbound lanes.
Evidence and witness statements confirm that a white 2020 International Truck Tractor was traveling east in the outside lane near the 2400 block of W I-20. A pedestrian, later identified as Pilar Moon of Kermit, was walking in the outside eastbound lane ahead of the International, a news release said. The driver of the International took evasive action to avoid striking Moon. However, impact was still made.
Moon was pronounced deceased on the scene. Her next of kin was notified. No charges have been filed. The investigation continues, the release said.
