Showbiz West Texas, All American Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram of Midland welcome the 2024 Bull Bash Aug. 3.
This highly anticipated event features a live performance by the renowned Josh Abbott Band, with special guest Hudson Westbrook. The event takes place this Saturday, August 3, at the iconic Ector County Coliseum in Odessa.
The 2024 Bull Bash promises an adrenaline-fueled showcase of the best in professional bull riding, featuring local, regional, and international riders, a news release said.
“We’re thrilled to partner with All American Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, & Ram of Midland to bring the 2024 Bull Bash to our community,” Richard Esparaza of Showbiz West Texas said in the release. “This event represents the epitome of Texas culture, combining the excitement of bull riding with the electrifying performances of one of the most beloved Texas country bands, the Josh Abbott Band.”
Boasting seven studio albums, including the recent drop of Somewhere Down the Road in January 2024, Josh Abbott Band remains deeply rooted in West Texas. Originating in Lubbock at Texas Tech in 2008, the band has forged a lasting connection to the region. With chart-toppers like “She’s Like Texas,” “Oh Tonight,” and “Wasn’t That Drunk,” their music resonates with audiences, spinning tales that reflect the essence of West Texas life.
Special Guest Announcement: Hudson Westbrook
Hudson Westbrook, a Lone Star native from Stephenville, has just been added as a special guest with the Josh Abbott Band. The Texas Tech student went viral on TikTok in April 2024 with his song “Take It Slow,” which currently has 2.4 million views. Hudson discovered his passion for music during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and quickly realized his singing talent. His latest song, “5 to 9,” is set to be released on August 2nd.
Ride to Riches: $5,000 Challenge on ‘Magic Moves’
The top bull rider of the night will have a chance to ride Martinez Bucking Bull’s never before ridden “Magic Moves” bull. If the bull rider stays on for 8 seconds, they will win $5,000. This promotion is sponsored by Martinez’s Bucking Bulls.
Josh Abbott Band Inspired Hat Giveaway with Beckie Leigh’s Hat Bar Co.
All ticket holders have a chance to win a Josh Abbott-inspired hat crafted by local artisan Beckie Leigh’s Hat Bar Co. The giveaway drawing will take place after the bull rides and before the concert begins, adding an extra element of excitement to the evening.
