The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday to consider the 2024-25 attendanceboundary for Zavala Elementary School.
The gathering will be in the first floor board room of the administration building, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.
At the Feb. 20 meeting, trustees voted on a series of school actions for the 2024-25 school year.
They included new attendance zones and/or new grade configurations for five elementary schools.
The Zavala Elementary boundary item was pulled from the agenda with Superintendent Scott Muri saying Feb. 20 that morework will be done and it would be brought back at another meeting.
At the Feb. 20 meeting, trustees voted 7-0 to approve a K-5 attendance boundary for Pease Elementary. The new attendancezone will go into effect in August 2024. In addition, Pease will be the In addition, Pease will be the location of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, a new Choice School offering for students.

Trustees voted 7-0 to approve an expanded K-5 attendance boundary for San Jacinto Elementary. The new attendance zonewill go into effect in August 2024.
The board voted 7-0 to approve repurposing Burleson Elementary into a Prekindergarten center. With this decision, studentsin the current Burleson attendance zone will be rezoned to attend either Noel Elementary or San Jacinto Elementary. Familieswill be notified very soon.
