Bachelor of Science in Nursing applications are now open

The time to get started on your Odessa College Bachelor of Science in Nursing application is now.

Students can download the application from the program’s website at https://www.odessa.edu/programs/schools/healthsciences/Nursing-BSN/index.html.

“We are excited to start receiving applications for our new RN to BSN program. Anyone who is interested in applying to the program should go to the website, download the application, and complete it so that they can submit it starting Monday, October 21 when the admission process opens. That will be the first day that we will accept application submissions. The last day that we will accept applications is Monday, Dec. 2,” Director of the BSN Program, Dr. Mayowa Otuada, said in a news release.

“We hope to start sending acceptance letters in December. Our first cohort of students will be limited to 32 students, and we will launch our new RN to BSN program with classes starting in Spring 2025,” Otuada said.

She also stated that applicants will need to read carefully the RN to BSN Pre-Admission Checklist and the RN to BSN Admission Guide before submitting their application. Links to both documents can be found under the “Links” section of the web page.

The RN to BSN program is a post-licensure program for registered nurses that already have an associate degree in nursing but are seeking their bachelor’s degree in nursing. The program will be offered in a 12-month period and will be totally online except for two clinical components. These two clinical courses will require onsite clinical attendance in health facilities located in the Permian Basin of Texas and simulations will take place in the simulation hospital in the new Wood Health & Sciences building.

Tuition is as low as $5,024 for an in-district student and $6,704 for out-of-district student.
