3 teens accused of organized criminal activity

Three teenagers were arrested late Wednesday night after officers said they tried to rip off undercover officers.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, undercover officers discovered someone using the name “murdaod” on Instagram was selling marijuana, THC and psychedelic mushrooms and they arranged to meet that person at a convenience store on South Crane Avenue.

The suspect told the undercover officers he’d be driving a maroon-colored car with chrome wheels and officers saw the car arrive and then leave, the report stated. Officers pulled the car over after noticing its tags had expired in August.

Officers saw several nicotine vape pen boxes in the back of the car and since none of the three occupants were old enough to possess nicotine, they searched the entire vehicle and found four sealed cake vape pens, the report stated.

When the officers opened the packaging, they discovered the vape pens had already been used and were empty, the report stated.

“All three advised that they were planning on ‘jacking’ the officers by selling the used vape pens to the undercover officers,” an officer wrote in his report.

Levi Bunton, 18, Christian Vigil, 17, and Bryon Pules, 17, were arrested on suspicion of engaging in organized criminal activity.

All three remained in the Ector County jail Thursday afternoon on surety bonds of $2,000 each.
